Sweetness & Lightning is a heartwarming animation series that follows the story of a young father, Kouhei Inuzuka, who is struggling to raise his daughter Tsumugi after the loss of his wife. Despite his lack of culinary skills, Kouhei tries to provide the best life possible for Tsumugi, but she longs for the delicious meals her mother used to make. One evening, they stumble upon a restaurant run by Kotori Iida's mother, who is absent, leaving Kotori to care for them. With Kotori's help, Kouhei begins to learn how to cook and the three of them start to share the joy of cooking and eating together. Through their shared experiences in the kitchen, they form a strong bond and learn to overcome their struggles.
