Doll

"Doll" tells the true story of Papusza, the first Romani woman to publish her poetry. From a young age, Papusza faces arranged marriages, life in a gypsy camp during WWII, and later settles in communist Poland. She meets the Polish poet Jerzy Ficowski, who recognizes her talent but also becomes her downfall. A powerful drama about the rise and fall of a talented poetess, her struggles and her relationship with the man who both discovered and betrayed her.
