Shot on warm, hazy 35 mm stock, the film itself feels like a historical artefact that’s just out of reach, a mystical gateway between our own world and the underworld beneath our feet.

Absolute Cinematic masterpiece from  Rohrwacher. Poetic though tangible allowing a shining cast to transform the scenes without ever loosing direction or sense of the story told on so many levels. A must see.

Att regissören Alice Rohrwacher jämförts med landsmannen Federico Fellini är inte konstigt. I Chimären finns det ett drömlikt bildspråk och verkligheten flyter ihop med mystiken likt i den sistnämndes mästerliga filmer.
