In the harsh winter following the death of his parents' livestock, 11-year-old Sukhbat must leave school and return home to support his family. His father tasks him with taming a wild horse to win a regional race, but Sukhbat soon realizes that he must confront a life governed by unforgiving nature and tradition. Braving the elements and facing his own fears, Sukhbat embarks on a journey to not only tame the horse, but also to discover his own strength and purpose. As he struggles to overcome the challenges before him, Sukhbat learns valuable lessons about resilience, family, and the power of tradition. Ultimately, he must decide whether to continue living life as it has always been lived, or to forge his own path forward.
