Unrest

In the late 19th century, a young factory worker named Josephine produces the unrest wheel, a crucial component of mechanical watches, in a small town in northwestern Switzerland. As new technologies and management methods are introduced, Josephine becomes increasingly disillusioned with the organization of work, time, and money in the village and its factory. She joins the local anarchist movement, where she meets Piotr Kropotkin, a Russian traveler with a dreamy gaze. Together, they ponder the nature of time, money, and government during a walk in the woods, questioning whether these concepts are not just fictions.
