In this fantasy-comedy movie, a medieval knight named Godefroy and his trusty servant Jacquouille are accidentally transported to the 20th century by a senile sorcerer. They find themselves in the middle of modern-day France, completely out of place and confused by the drastic changes in technology, fashion, and culture. Godefroy tries to adapt to his new surroundings, but his attempts at chivalry and heroism only lead to chaos and hilarity. He mistakes a postman for a Moor in a devil's chariot and ends up in a mental hospital, while Jacquouille befriends a charming vagrant named Ginette. Béatrice, a beautiful aristocrat who looks exactly like Godefroy's beloved Frénégonde, takes Godefroy under her wing, thinking he's her long-lost cousin Hubert. As they navigate this strange new world together, they encounter everything from car chases to magic potions gone wrong.
