The Invisible City: Kakuma

In the heart of the Turkana desert, Kenya, lies Kakuma, a refugee camp home to 200,000 people, including many children who have been sent away from conflict zones by their parents. Against all odds, these young minds grasp every opportunity to rebuild their lives. Nyakong, 8, starts school while waiting for her mother's return from South Sudan. Teenagers like Claude and Khadijo work hard to secure international scholarships, find jobs, and even build their own homes. Filmmaker Lieven Corthouts spent over four years in the camp, documenting the accomplishments of these resilient children and exposing the true dynamics of a refugee camp. Can Kakuma offer a future, or is it just a waiting room for a perilous journey to Europe?
