Camp X-Ray follows the story of Amy Cole, a young woman who joins the military to escape her small-town roots and find purpose. She's sent to Guantanamo Bay as a guard, where she meets Ali Amir, a detainee who has been held for eight years. Despite their different backgrounds and roles, they form an unlikely friendship that challenges their beliefs and loyalties. As they navigate the harsh realities of life at Guantanamo, they must confront their own moral doubts and confrontations with their fellow soldiers. The film stars Kristen Stewart and Payman Maadi as Amy and Ali, in a powerful performance that explores the complexities of war, politics, gender, and humanity.
