The Great Buck Howard

The Great Buck Howard is a comedy-drama film about a young man named Troy Gable who becomes the assistant to a fading mentalist named Buck Howard. Despite his father's disapproval, Troy leaves law school to pursue his dream of becoming a writer in Los Angeles. He takes a job as Buck's road manager and the two of them travel to smaller venues, performing Buck's signature trick. The film follows their journey as they attempt to resurrect Buck's career and Troy finds himself admiring Buck's talent and determination. Along the way, Troy also becomes romantically involved with a publicist named Valerie Brennan. The film stars John Malkovich, Colin Hanks, Emily Blunt, and Tom Hanks.
