The DUFF

The DUFF is a comedy film about a high school senior named Bianca who discovers that her classmates refer to her as the "DUFF" (Designated Ugly Fat Friend) of her friend group. The term is used to describe the person in a social group who is less popular and therefore more accessible than the others. Bianca is initially devastated but decides to use Wesley, the school's football star and her childhood friend, as a coach to help her reinvent herself and break free from the DUFF label. Along the way, she confronts the mean girl clique that has been terrorizing her and ultimately learns that true friends are more important than superficial popularity. The film features an ensemble cast of colorful characters, including Bianca's two best friends Jess and Casey, Wesley's on-again off-again girlfriend Madison, and Toby, Bianca's guitar-playing crush.
