In "Swimmer," a young man embarks on a journey across the rivers and lakes of Britain, captured to a soundtrack of nationalistic music. As he swims, we hear the thoughts and conversations of the people he encounters on the banksides, including children, lovers, and a tramp. The film follows him as he walks through a wood at night, before returning to the water and seemingly disappearing beneath the surface. A poignant and visually striking exploration of identity, belonging, and the human condition.
