Summer Solstice

In the midst of war-torn Poland in 1943, four teenagers from different walks of life find solace in each other's company. Romek, a young train engineer, dreams of becoming a locomotive driver and winning over Franka, a kitchen helper at the German gendarmerie post. Franka is, however, smitten with Guido, a German military policeman who has been transferred to the village for punishment. As they spend more time together, their friendship blossoms into something more. But their idyllic world is shattered when Romek discovers a wounded Jewish girl, Bunia, and decides to help her. Against the backdrop of war and oppression, the four teenagers must confront the harsh realities of their lives and learn the true meaning of love, friendship, and sacrifice.
