Sew Torn

Taut and stylish, with a whimsical sense of humor, “Sew Torn” exists on very familiar genre ground, but MacDonald approaches it from the side.

This film is just evocative of a talented visual storyteller who is still coming into his own.

While this is larger-than-life storytelling, it’s witty, stylish and – while MacDonald sometimes overstretches his fabric – never loses the thread of its own ridiculousness.

...Macdonald and Connolly — of TV’s “Into the Badlands” and “Vikings” — keeps us engaged in a “Mouse Hunt” tale where the trick is to have the right thread and get it through the eye of the needle enough times to pay off.
