Red Joan

Red Joan is a historical thriller film set in the UK during the Cold War era. The movie follows the story of a retired elderly woman, Joan Stanley, who is arrested by the British Intelligence Service and accused of providing information to communist Russia during the 1940s and 1950s. As she is interrogated, Joan reflects on her past as a young student at Cambridge University, where she became embroiled in left-wing politics and fell in love with a Russian man named Leo. She recounts how she was recruited to work on a top-secret atomic bomb project and how she eventually began providing information to the Soviet Union. The film explores themes of loyalty, betrayal, and the morality of espionage.
