Martha moves to a retirement community, where she befriends Sheryl and decides to start a cheerleading club for seniors to prove that age is just a number. Despite facing challenges and criticism, they recruit members and practice hard, determined to perform at a local pep rally. But things take a turn when Helen injures her ankle, and they face a lawsuit threat from her overbearing son. The group disbands, but Martha invites Sheryl over for a drink and they come up with a plan to reassemble the squad with the help of Chloe, a teenage girl who had previously teased them. They prepare for a cheerleading competition, but Martha's cancer progresses and she collapses. In the hospital, Sheryl urges her to continue cheerleading despite her suffering. Martha and the group escape from Tom and Vicki and make it to the competition, where they successfully perform and win over the audience. Martha passes away peacefully after the performance, with a firework going off as a final goodbye. A year later, the group continues to perform and grow, inspired by Martha's spirit.
