Otelo Burning

Otelo Burning is a powerful coming-of-age story set against the backdrop of apartheid's end in South Africa. The film follows a group of teenagers from a township who discover their passion for surfing and their journey towards self-discovery and justice. Through the eyes of Otelo Buthelezi, a gifted surfer, we witness the explosive potential for change in a nation torn apart by political violence. As the boys begin to win competitions, jealousy and betrayal threaten to tear them apart. In the end, Otelo must make a choice between his love for surfing and justice for his younger brother, Ntwe. Will he choose the glamour of international surfing or stand up for what is right?
