"My Way to Olympia" is a documentary that follows the journey of film director Niko von Glasow as he meets and interviews athletes competing in the 2012 Paralympic Games in London. Despite being a self-proclaimed hater of sports, Niko is determined to understand why these athletes push themselves to compete at the highest level, especially when everyday life for people with disabilities can be challenging enough. Along the way, he meets a diverse group of athletes including a U.S. archer, a Norwegian table tennis player, a German swimmer, a Greek boccia player, and a Sitting Volleyball team. Through their stories, Niko learns about the strength and resilience of the human spirit and gains a newfound appreciation for the power of sports. The film culminates with Niko's visit to the ancient city of Olympia, where the Olympics were born, and where the prohibition on boccia playing is both a reminder of the past and an inspiration for the future.
