In the rural outskirts of Austin, Texas, a rebellious 10-year-old girl named Annie spends her days vandalizing property and causing chaos. One day, while exploring the woods, she hears a woman's cries for help coming from an abandoned well. Initially skeptical, Annie returns to the well daily, bringing supplies and communicating with the woman, Esther, through a walkie-talkie.
