I Am Breathing is a powerful and intimate documentary that explores the thin space between life and death. Within a year, Neil Platt, a healthy 30-something British man with a great sense of humor, becomes completely paralyzed from the neck down due to a devastating inherited illness. As his body weakens, his perspective on life changes, and he muses about the meaning of life and the impossibility of terminating a mobile phone contract. Despite his circumstances, Neil remains determined to communicate his thoughts and experiences to his baby son Oscar, and shares his story through memories and impressions of his life. Through his determination to share his final journey, Neil makes us revalue the ordinary and ask questions about our own lives.
