In this prequel to The Darjeeling Limited (2007), Hotel Chevalier follows a man named Jack Whitman as he spends time in a luxurious hotel room in Paris avoiding his past relationship with a woman named Rhett who comes to visit him. The film takes place almost entirely within Jack's hotel room while he waits for Rhett's arrival and they reconnect after some time apart. They discuss their relationship and Jack reveals he's been living in the hotel room for over a month to escape their relationship issues.
