In the dusty town of Hopeville, a former alcoholic named Amos tries to reconnect with his estranged son Themba. Despite their rough start, Amos decides to restore the town's abandoned swimming pool to help Themba pursue his dream of becoming a swimmer. However, their efforts are met with resistance and skepticism from the townspeople, who have grown complacent in their miserable lives. Through sheer determination and courage, Amos' actions slowly begin to inspire change in the town, spreading hope and positivity in the face of adversity. As the pool begins to take shape, the townspeople start to come together and support each other, transforming Hopeville into a place of renewal and growth.
