Luli McMullen is a 13-year-old girl who's had enough of her dysfunctional family in small-town Nebraska. On her birthday, she receives a Smith & Wesson revolver from her uncle and decides to take matters into her own hands. She sets out on a journey to Las Vegas, encountering a cast of eccentric characters along the way - including Eddie, a charismatic drifter with a dark past, and Glenda, a cocaine-snorting drifter with a tragic history. As Luli navigates the dangerous and unpredictable world of the road, she must confront her own demons and confront the harsh realities of life.
