Held for Ransom tells the true story of Daniel Rye, a young Danish photographer who was captured by ISIS in Syria in 2013 and held hostage for 398 days. The film follows Daniel's struggle to survive in captivity, his friendship with fellow hostage James Foley, and the anguish of his family back in Denmark who are desperate to save him.
