In the midst of a civil war, the Shinsengumi, a group of loyal samurai, fight a desperate battle against the new government and their own demons. Hijikata, the leader, must make a difficult decision to protect his comrades and the woman he loves, Chizuru. As the situation becomes more dire, some members begin to question the leadership and defect, while others stand firm in their resolve. Chizuru, determined to be with Hijikata, sets out on a perilous journey to find him. The fate of the Shinsengumi and their struggle for honor and love hangs in the balance in the face of overwhelming odds. Will they emerge victorious or will their loyalty be their downfall?
