What is Green Card about?
Green Card is a romantic comedy-drama film about two strangers, Brontë Parrish and Georges Fauré, who enter into a Green Card marriage for mutual benefits. Brontë, an environmentalist and horticulturalist, wants to rent a perfect apartment with a greenhouse, which is only available to married couples, while Georges, an undocumented immigrant from France, needs to stay in the United States. They agree to a marriage of convenience, but their relationship becomes complicated when they are investigated by the Immigration and Naturalization Service. To avoid suspicion, they start living together and pretending to be a happily married couple. As they spend more time together, they start to develop feelings for each other, but their differences and quirks also create tension in their relationship.
