Fonissa

In the early 20th century, a widow named Hadoula lives on a remote Greek island governed by strict patriarchal laws. She's learned to survive in a society that demeans and oppresses women. However, she can't shake off the burden of her mother's and grandmothers' suffering, which has been passed down to her. Hadoula begins to revolt against the status quo, targeting young girls who are doomed to a life of hardship and abuse. Her actions spark a confrontation with the law, prompting her to flee to nature for refuge. Despite her conviction that she acted righteously, the trauma of generations haunts her. Will redemption be possible for Hadoula?
