In the harsh subarctic environment of Dawson City, a family embarks on a year-long experiment to challenge the status quo of food security. They forego store-bought groceries and instead, take on the adventure of farming, fishing, and foraging for their sustenance. The journey is complicated by three skeptical teenagers and the extreme temperatures of -40°C. Will they succeed in their quest for self-sufficiency, or will the challenges they face prove insurmountable?
