In the midst of war and oppression, a young man named Ivan Dodoka finds himself on a journey of self-discovery and redemption. After witnessing the injustices of collectivization and the arrest of his father, Ivan joins the Red Army as a pilot and becomes a Hero of the Soviet Union. However, he is soon taken prisoner and thrust into a harsh reality of survival in the camps. Despite the challenges he faces, Ivan never loses hope and finds solace in the memories of his childhood and his love for Lyubov. As he navigates the treacherous path ahead, Ivan must confront his enemies, face his own doubts and fears, and ultimately find a way to escape and start anew. Will he be able to overcome the odds against him and find freedom and happiness?
