Everything Else

Everything Else tells the story of Doña Flor, a woman who has spent 35 years working as a clerk in a government office. Her life is marked by routine and solitude, and she has suppressed the pain of losing her daughter who drowned years ago. As she approaches retirement age, the walls of bureaucracy that have sheltered her from her emotions begin to crumble. Doña Flor's sense of self awakens as she faces the loss of her companion, a cat, and the country around her erupts in violence and corruption. She returns to water, seeking solace from her grief in the place where her daughter died. The film is a powerful exploration of the human condition that asks what it means to truly live as we confront the challenges of aging, loss, and the search for identity.
