Cuban Dancer follows the journey of Alexis Valdes, a young and talented ballet dancer, as he navigates the challenges of growing up and pursuing his dreams in a new environment. Supported by his family, Alexis studied at the National Ballet School of Cuba and dreamed of performing on the world's grandest stages. However, when his family moves to Florida to reunite with his sister, Alexis must adapt to a new and unfamiliar world, where he faces rejection and homesickness. Despite these obstacles, he remains determined to succeed and must find a way to reconcile his roots with his new surroundings. Through the lens of dance, this documentary explores themes of identity, belonging, and the pursuit of one's passion.
