Broadcast News is a romantic comedy-drama that follows the lives of three TV news professionals working in Washington D.C. Jane Craig, a talented producer, is passionate about reporting and abhors the trend towards soft news. Aaron Altman, a gifted writer and reporter, is lacking in social skills and is secretly in love with Jane. Tom Grunick, a local news anchorman, starts his career in sports but lacks news experience and isn't especially bright. However, he's tall, handsome, and telegenic which makes him perfect for TV. The three work together in the Washington bureau of a national TV network where they face challenges, romantic triangle, and personal growth. The movie explores themes of love, ethics, careers, friendship, and the ups and downs of working in the cutthroat world of TV news. With a star-studded cast, including Holly Hunter, William Hurt, Albert Brooks., and Jack Nicholson., Broadcast News was nominated for seven Academy Awards including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor & Best Actress!
