Lady Sarah Ashley, a high-society Englishwoman, inherits a vast cattle ranch in northern Australia in the late 1930s. To protect her new property from a greedy businessman, she teams up with an independent drover and embarks on an arduous cattle drive across the unforgiving landscape. Along the way, they face challenges such as harsh weather conditions and dangerous wildlife. As they journey onward, the Drover's rugged exterior hides a dark past that gradually reveals itself to Lady Sarah. Through their adventures and experiences together, they develop an unlikely bond despite their vastly different backgrounds and personalities. As World War II looms closer with Japanese forces bombing Darwin, Lady Sarah and the Drover must confront not only their enemies but also their inner demons to find hope for themselves for themselves amidst chaos.
