An Elephant Sitting Still

In the industrial city of Manzhouli in northern China lives four individuals who have lost their path in life. Wei Bu, a high school student, pushes a bully down the stairs after an argument over a cell phone; his friend, Li Kai; Huang Ling; and Wang Jin, an elderly retired soldier, all have their own personal struggles. Their lives become intertwined as they develop a common obsession with an elephant said to be sitting still in a circus in Manzhouli. Prince, a gang member who recently lost a close friend to suicide because of him, also becomes fascinated with the elephant. As each character faces their own demons, they all make their way to Manzhouli for different reasons. Will they find their escape from the downward spiral of their lives by sitting with the elephant, or will they find something else? "An Elephant Sitting Still" is a gripping drama that explores themes of loneliness, redemption and the search for meaning in life
