Amare amaro

In a small Sicilian village, a young baker named Gaetano finds himself at odds with the community when he decides to bury his older brother, a known criminal who died during a violent confrontation, near their mother's grave. Despite the town's tradition of not burying people of "bad nature" near the honest folk, Gaetano is determined to give his brother a proper burial, even if it means going against the law and putting himself and his family in danger. As he struggles to assert his family's rights, he receives unexpected support from Anna, the daughter of the town's mayor, who is fiercely independent and has a rebellious streak. Together, they challenge the status quo and fight for their personal freedom in a town steeped in tradition.
