Set in the breathtaking Peruvian Andes, "Altiplano" tells the story of Grace, a war photographer haunted by a traumatic event in Iraq, and her husband Max, a doctor who becomes embroiled in a native tribe's struggle against a polluting mine. When Max is killed by the villagers, Grace embarks on a journey to uncover the truth and find closure. Along the way, she crosses paths with Saturnina, a young woman who has lost her fiancé to the contamination and is driven to drastic measures to protest the injustice. The intertwining destinies of these two women unfurl against the stunning backdrop of the Andes, in a powerful and thought-provoking exploration of grief, redemption, and the human cost of environmental degradation.
