Softie tells the story of a 10-year-old boy named Johnny who lives in a tough neighborhood in eastern France. Despite his young age, Johnny is fascinated by adult matters and observes the ups and downs of his young mother's love life with curiosity. When a new teacher named Mr. Adamski takes over his class, Johnny finds a mentor who believes in him and helps him discover a whole new world beyond his rough surroundings.
