In Bloom

In Bloom tells the story of two best friends, Eka and Natia, who are growing up in Tbilisi, Georgia in 1992 during the tumultuous period following the fall of the Soviet Union. As they navigate their turbulent family lives and ignore societal customs, they work to escape their difficult circumstances and find their own path in a world filled with violence, insecurity, and uncertainty. When Natia's father, an alcoholic and abusive man, gives her a gun with a single bullet, Natia uses it to intimidate those who bully her and Eka. However, when Natia is kidnapped by Kote, one of her admirers, Eka turns to the adults for help but is ultimately unsuccessful. She attends Natia's wedding but is unhappy for her friend. The film follows their journey as they struggle to find their place in a world torn apart by war, family dysfunction, and societal collapse. Will they be able to find peace and happiness, or will they become victims of their circumstance?
