Courage

"Courage" is a documentary that follows the story of three actors, Maryna, Pavel, and Denis, who belong to an underground theatre group in Minsk, Belarus. During the 2020 presidential elections, they join the peaceful mass protests, along with thousands of people, in hope of achieving freedom of speech and democracy. As the regime's forces brutally crack down on the protesters, the actors narrowly escape arrest and torture. The film is a powerful portrayal of courage, resistance, and the personal consequences of fighting for democracy in what is often referred to as Europe's last dictatorship.
