White Oleander

White Oleander tells the story of Astrid Magnussen, a 15-year-old girl who is forced to navigate the foster care system after her mother, Ingrid, is sentenced to life in prison for murdering her lover with a poisonous plant. As Astrid moves from home to home, she struggles to find stability and forming lasting connections with her foster families. Despite the challenges she faces, Astrid remains fiercely attached to her mother, who continues to exert a powerful influence over her life even from behind bars. As she grows older and gains independence, Astrid must confront the truth about her mother's actions and find a way to forge her own path in life.
