Shelley

Shelley is a psychological horror film that tells the story of a young Romanian woman, Elena, who agrees to be a surrogate mother for a Danish couple, Louise and Kasper, who live in isolation in a remote lakehouse. However, as Elena's pregnancy progresses, she begins to experience strange and terrifying events, including hallucinations, nightmares, and a mysterious and malevolent presence that seems to be growing inside her. As Elena's condition worsens, Louise becomes her caretaker, but one night, Elena attempts to give herself an abortion with a knitting needle and dies of internal bleeding. The baby, Shelley, is born healthy but begins to demonstrate some of the same strange behavior as Elena. The film takes a dark and eerie turn as Shelley grows up and the true nature of her existence is revealed. The film explores themes of isolationism, paranoia , and supernatural horror, and it's a slow-burning tale of terror that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end.
