Saving Face

Saving Face is a powerful documentary that follows the stories of two acid attack survivors in Pakistan, Zakia and Rukhsana, as they fight for justice and healing. The film exposes the brutal reality of acid violence against women in Pakistan, where hundreds of attacks occur every year, and the vast majority of cases go unreported. British-Pakistani plastic surgeon Dr. Mohammad Jawad returns to his homeland to help restore the faces and lives of these survivors, and the film highlights the tireless efforts of the Acid Survivors Foundation of Pakistan. Through these personal stories, Saving Face sheds light on the deeper cultural and structural issues that contribute to acid violence against women in Pakistan.
