In feudal Japan, a powerful and mysterious ninja named Jubei Kibagami must fight against a group of demonic ninjas known as the Eight Devils of Kimon who threaten to overthrow the government. After rescuing a young kunoichi named Kagero from one of the Devils, Jubei is forced by a Tokugawa spy named Dakuan to help him kill the remaining Devils. Jubei soon discovers that the leader of the Devils is none other than his former mentor, Himuro Gemma, who had betrayed him and his comrades five years earlier. With the help of Kagero, Jubei must use his fearsome abilities to take down the Devils and put an end to Gemma's evil plans. But as the battle rages on, Jubei realizes that there's more at stake than just his own life.
