What is Marshall about? 
Thurgood Marshall, a young NAACP lawyer, is sent to Bridgeport, Connecticut in 1941 to defend Joseph Spell, a black chauffeur accused of raping his white employer. Marshall must work with Sam Friedman, an insurance lawyer, to defend Spell in a trial that has garnered national attention. Despite facing discrimination and obstacles, Marshall must guide Friedman through the trial, using his notes and experience to help him navigate the legal system.
