In the dark depths of rural Germany, a young woman named Vera Kall vanishes without a trace. Ten years later, her former classmate Paula returns to their hometown to make a documentary about Vera's mysterious disappearance. Paula enlists the help of their former teacher Henry, now a successful copywriter, to write the script. As they delve deeper into the past, they uncover a web of secrets and lies that threaten to destroy their own lives. What really happened to Vera? And why are some secrets better left untold?
