In the heart of the Veracruz rainforest, a young linguist named Martin embarks on a quest to document and understand Zikril, a dying indigenous language. He soon discovers that the last two speakers, Isauro and Evaristo, have been estranged for 50 years due to a long-standing feud. As Martin delves deeper into the village's history, he uncovers a forbidden love story that fuelled the hatred between the two men. With Isauro's health declining, Martin races against time to bring the pair together and convince them to speak once more, not only to preserve the language but also to heal old wounds.
