Frequently asked questions
What is GAGA about?
In the misty autumn-winter season, a tribesman named Hayung's family is portrayed in the movie GAGA. Their ancestral customs are obscure, and their faith in GAGA is unwavering. After Hayung's homeland was taken over, one 80-year-old man devoted his entire life to worshiping GAGA. The traditions were, however, forgotten by his descendants after his passing. The Hayung's family, representing indigenous families in Taiwan, is shown struggling to keep their family and village together as the eldest son, Pasang, joins an election campaign, disregarding the opposition from his family, and the second son is a farmer. The family and the town are on the verge of collapsing, and for the first time in a very long time snow blankets the area. But as it starts to melt, new life begins to emerge; the broken household starts to heal and repair itself.
