Bitter Melon

Bitter Melon is a dark comedy that follows a Filipino-American family as they reunite for Christmas in San Francisco. However, the festivities take a dark turn when the family discovers that Troy, the second oldest son, has been physically and emotionally abusing his wife and mother. As the family grapples with this revelation, Declan, the youngest son, proposes a radicalical idea: to kill Troy. The film explores themes of toxic masculinity, the perception of masculinity in the LGBT community, and the future of masculinity in the wake of its patriarchal past. Will the family go through with their plan, or will they find another way to deal with Troy's abuse?
