Bao

Bao tells the story of a Chinese-Canadian woman who is struggling to cope with the fact that her grown son has left home. She finds solace in cooking baozi, but one of the buns comes alive and she raises it as her own child. As the bun grows, it desires more independence, causing tension between the two. The mother is forced to confront the bittersweet reality that nothing stays small and cute forever. In the end, she must come to terms with the fact that her "bun" has grown up and moved on with its life. Bao is a heartwarming animated short film about love, family, and growth.
