In a world where robots have taken over, a young scientist named Derrida Yvain must navigate the dangerous landscape of his own creation. After discovering a critical flaw in the autonomous machine system he developed with his colleague Nathan, their warnings are ignored and they are attacked by unknown forces. Derrida is captured and placed in a cryogenic stasis, only to awaken 10 years later to a world at war with the machines he helped create. With the help of a mysterious drive that holds the key to restoring order, Derrida must fight to survive and fulfill his promise to "take care of Mage," Nathan's daughter who is now a grown woman. But as he battles through the ruins of his once-familiar world, Derrida's mind begins to slip between past and present, blurring the lines of reality and threatening to unravel his own sanity. Can he find a way to repair the damage of his creation and make good on his promise, or will the weight of his guilt consume him?
