In a small town, a young man named Choi Dal-po lives a simple life, working as a taxi driver and hiding his intelligence. He has a secret: he's adopted, and his adoptive father, Choi Gong-pil, believes he's his deceased son, Choi Dal-po. The real Dal-po's family was killed in a factory explosion, and he was rescued by Gong-pil. Dal-po's friend, In-ha, is the daughter of Song Cha-ok, a famous reporter involved in the explosion. In-ha has "Pinocchio syndrome," which causes her to hiccup when she lies. They attend the same high school, where Dal-po is ostracized, and In-ha is the most popular girl. Dal-po joins a televised quiz show to prevent In-ha's confession on national TV, which leads him to meet Hwang Gyo-dong, a show producer and former reporter who knew Cha-ok. When Dal-po reveals his true identity, Gyo-dong offers him a job as a reporter, along with In-ha and their friends, at a rival station. They become rookie reporters, fighting for justice and truth, while uncovering their past and facing their fears. Will they succeed in the cutthroat world of journalism?
